On February 20, 2018, the National Anti-Doping Agency, at the invitation of the National Weightlifting Federation, conducted a training seminar for elite athletes. The agenda of the seminar was focused on rising awareness of the participants with the Prohibited List of substances and methods, explaining the negative effects of doping substances. In addition, it was highlighted the risk of taking medication and nutritional supplements, as well as the danger of unintentional anti-doping rule violation, in the light of the principle of strict liability. At the same time, the Whereabouts Program was presented to the athletes, explaining in detail the way of filling in the personal data in the ADAMS system in order to comply with the anti-doping rules. During the event, athletes showed an increased interest in discussed topics, addressing a lot of questions and suggestions. Finally, Tudor Casapu, President of the Weightlifting Federation, thanked both the speakers and the participants at the seminar, emphasizing that the Weightlifting Federation strongly supports the fight against doping and the promotion of clean sport.
