Today, 22 November 2022, the official signing ceremony of the Collaboration Protocol between the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania and the National Anti-Doping Agency of the Republic of Moldova takes place in Chisinau (Republic of Moldova).
This event marks a new stage in the inter-institutional cooperation between the two national anti-doping organizations that are Signatories to the World Anti-Doping Code (the Code) developed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The extent of the cooperation relations in the prevention and fight against doping in sport further ties into the status of Romania and the Republic of Moldova as States-Parties to the Anti-Doping Convention of the Council of Europe and to the UNESCO International Convention against Doping in Sports.
The world anti-doping program coordinated by WADA, in its capacity as an entity that globally regulates the prevention and fight against doping in sport, provides the best premises for strengthening the cooperation framework between national anti-doping organizations. This open and ongoing dialogue also contributes to enriching the experience and increasing the effectiveness of the anti-doping program.
The collaboration protocol will facilitate the exchange of experience, information and best practices in order to harmonize the national anti-doping program and the national anti-doping legislation of the Republic of Moldova with the provisions of the world anti-doping program.
In the context of supporting a clean sport and a level-playing field, the Romanian delegation is led by Mr. Stefan Rohnean, President of the National Anti-Doping Agency.
